AIM OF THE PROJECT: By engaging students in deciding their schools’ budgets the project aims to raise awareness about how to participate in financial decision making in their schools and municipalities, how to monitor execution and demand transparency.
MAIN ACTIVITIES: Program will be piloted in six schools in different regions of Latvia. The students will be asked to propose ideas for things they would like to have in their school based on a predetermined budget. The ideas will be publicly exhibited during the whole process in order to facilitate maximum transparency. The students will present their ideas to the school community, everyone will vote on the ideas they liked best. The schools will commit to implement the ideas by the end of 2020.
